I created Mommy's Choice Maternal After Birth Care (MABC), after I had my first baby, Arayah Valerie-Rose. With my background in childbirth as a doula I thought I knew what to expect, during and after labor but my experience was completely different. I have seen and heard horror stories playout but going through labor myself, was a complete shock. People always say things like, "Labor is too intense, get the epidural", "breastfeeding is too hard, don't do it", "your hair is going to fall out, get use to it" the list can go on, literally all day. Well I am here today surviving the MOMLIFE! Changing the way pregnancy, labor, childbirth and after birth are viewed. Going home with only a new baby and a few pads from the hospital I began to get discouraged. I healed and moved on but I couldn't stop thinking about the other mommy's that wouldn't recover like I did. How would they deal with sore nipples from feeding their babies, or the constant itch from the healing stitches or even the red rash on their baby's bum from the toxic diapers. Throughout my career I have had a hard time finding products to recommend to my patients that would solve these problems. And after experiencing birth firsthand I decided to make my own solutions. So I took the knowledge I learned through my extensive studies in medicine and Integrative Health Care to create a brand that will help women ease into motherhood without worry.
